AI is getting a lot of attention, but not everything being discussed is useful in practice. This BoF focuses on real-world AI use cases for network engineers, operators, and ISPs that can be applied today.
Through practical examples, we’ll look at what works, what doesn’t, and what lessons people have learned while putting AI into production.

David Verolme
IT and ISP engineer with a background in infrastructure, automation and software development. Currently working on practical AI use cases for ISPs, from internal knowledge systems and call analytics to RAG-based operational support. Interested in AI beyond the hype: what works, what breaks and what is actually useful.
Sander Steffann
Sander has been an internet professional since 1995 and he still has no intention of slowing down. After 15 years of being an independent contractor he has joined Hilco in January of 2026 where he deals with everything from consultancy and sysadmin work to developing new solutions and deploying anycast services.
