The DNS Working Group focuses on technical and operational DNS issues, sharing best practices and coordinating with organisations like CENTR and the IETF, while addressing software, security, scalability, and registry–registrar operational topics.

Yevheniya Nosyk

Yevheniya Nosyk is a Cybersecurity Researcher at KOR Labs, where she explores all aspects of the Domain Name System — technical, policy-related, and operational. She is passionate about network measurements and spends her days uncovering how the Internet really works. 

With an academic background, she engages with the broader network operators community to ensure her research aligns with the operational reality.

She earned her Ph.D. in Computer Science from Université Grenoble Alpes in 2024.

Ulrich Wisser - DNS WG Chair

Ulrich Wisser

Ulrich Wisser is ICANN’s Technical Engagement Manager for Europe. His main role is to support ICANN’s technical engagement efforts in the region (trainings, promote DNS standards and best practices, promote research, …). Ulrich’s professional career prior to joining ICANN included a 15-year tenure at the Foundation for Internet Infrastructre, the Swedish ccTLD (.SE) registry.

He is a 4th degree black belt and licensed judo instructor.

Marc van der Wal

Marc van der Wal graduated as an engineer from ENSIIE and holds a Master’s degree in Computing and Networking from the Université Pierre et Marie Curie (Paris 6). He began his career at CS Group in 2012 as a design engineer before becoming a systems architect in 2019. His assignments led him to specialise in cybersecurity and Voice over IP. In 2022, he joined the Afnic Labs department as an R&D engineer. At Afnic, he has been working on DNS testing tools such as Zonemaster and IBDNS, studying the adoption of email authentication protocols, and develop tools to help fight DNS abuse.
