Åsbjørn Vee - 2026-10-29 14:30:25
Let's bundle this up xD

Éric Vyncke - 2026-10-29 14:31:28
https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-limarsjenwar-tiptop-address-space/ is the *individual* (not yet adopted) draft

Petra Zeidler - 2026-10-29 14:36:45
does anyone know which enitites would be the recipient of these addresses?

Petra Zeidler - 2026-10-29 14:38:08
speaking with my DLR hat on, you won't reach a satellite or interplanetary probe from the open internet, no way no how. Some people could typo an address and kill one of our darlings.

Éric Vyncke - 2026-10-29 14:38:53
Clearly ;-) (at least for the foreseable future)

Alex Le Heux - 2026-10-29 14:39:23
Note that this is the general chat. Please use the Meetecho Q&A feature if a question or comment should be read out on the mic.

Petra Zeidler - 2026-10-29 14:47:07
so there's going to be a policy for a use case that noone is interested in? :)

Stephen Strowes - 2026-10-29 14:47:46
obligatory on "how far space reaches" -> "you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist's, but that's just peanuts to space"

Åsbjørn Vee - 2026-10-29 14:59:21
Can those slides please also be uploaded? I can't see them linked on the talk page

Franziska Lichtblau - 2026-10-29 15:00:25
Yes we will make sure they are

Åsbjørn Vee - 2026-10-29 15:00:31
Thank you

Mirjam Kühne - 2026-10-29 15:02:03
Working on it. SOrry about that.

Mirjam Kühne - 2026-10-29 15:02:24
And they are there now :-)

Åsbjørn Vee - 2026-10-29 15:02:47
Yes, I can see them now ❤️

Éric Vyncke - 2026-10-29 15:17:13
Wondering why IPv6 is 'out of scope' though
