For those of you who don't know Ondrej Surý https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cw30ejqljl43o

Btw, Remi Collet does the exactly same as Ondřej Surý - but for other Linux distributions (Fedora, AlmaLinux, CentOS Stream Oracle Linux, RHEL, Rocky Linux).

Barry, I imagine this indeed might be further clarified in case law, but the "monetizing" you speak of is not "someone pays us directly for writing a new feature into an open source product", but would be "someone pays us directly for writing a custom private addon"? Because in non-legalise, open source features for pay or support contracts are what I'd call open source monetization, but it looks like the CRA doesn't.

IPv6 NDP: What the heck? Is that Link-Local multicast snooping without a querier?

"We thought we didn't use very many components." Welcome to modern software development. 😅

Things were bad BEFORE all of the capital in the world got dumped into AI. 🙁

(Actually I'm quite happy for governments to pay for public infrastructure...)
Shane Kerr - 2026-10-28 10:23:40
I agree Marco!

I'd much rather public funds go into open source code than into profits for companies making proprietary products.
